GOOD HOUSEKEEPING SELECTS DATEHINI AS A 2022 HEALTHY SNACK AWARDS WINNER
An endurance athlete, Sepoli founder Sezin Kutlu is always up for a good competition. That’s why just six months after launching Datehini she decided to test her strength against others bringing better-for-you foods to market – and took home gold! Datehini was recently announced as a Good Housekeeping 2022 Healthy Snack Awards winner, one of the most respected and recognized awards in the food industry.
The rigorous selection process enlists registered dietitians and culinary professionals in the Good Housekeeping Institute Nutrition Lab to review product nutrition facts, ingredient lists and flavor profiles of hundreds of entries. Finalists are then sampled by nearly 2,000 test testers to help choose the winners, analyzing 49,495 data points to determine the winning picks for all ages that excel in nutrition and taste. The testing focuses on innovative, tasty snacks that meet several criteria, including: made with real and recognized ingredients; prioritize fiber-filled and protein-rich ingredients; are free from trans-fat and partially hydrogenated oils; have 300 calories or less per serving; have 10 g or less of added sugar per serving; and 300 mg or less of sodium per serving.
Being a new player in the food industry and bringing a Mediterranean influenced product to market that is still very new to US consumers, the Sepoli team is pleasantly surprised to receive the award and is confident that Datehini is on its way to becoming a nutritious pantry staple.
Among the Good Housekeeping lab results, registered dietitians highlighted that Datehini provides vitamin B6, omega-3 fatty acids and essential minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. Taste-testers also loved how naturally sweet the spread is, saying that it is “decadent and satisfying.”
The Sepoli team is excited now more than ever to keep “swirling” on, knowing that consumers across the country are embracing our nutritious and delicious spread!
